THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER MADE BY ANYONE.Back in 1970 no one knew who the Stooges were in the UK and only in Detroit did they have any kind of a following. How many of these would you say were pressed for the Australian market ? Not many thats for sure and they probably went straight into the bargain bucket. THIS IS AUSTRALIAN PRESSINGS OF THIS LP IS MUCH RARER THAT THE UK
OR THE JAP PRESSING OF THIS GREAT LP .THAT IS A FACT.
This is an original FIRST pressing of FUNHOUSE by THE STOOGES and of all the first pressings of this LP ,this AUSTRALIAN release is one of the most difficult to find. I have been a serious collector of The Stooges since 1978 and up until about five years ago had no idea this even existed. Try finding a UK or a Japanese copy of this its almost impossible,this Australian corker is no easier ! The front laminated sleeve is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.There is very light ring ware to the back of the LP jacket. Double click the pictures the spine is in EXCELLENT condition and all the spinal writings can be read clearly. Again double click the pictures and have a close look at those beautiful blue butterfly Elektra labels. Of all the countries this album was ever released in the Australian original is my particular favorite.It is simply a very well made beautiful pressing. The labels are flawless . Side one of the he vinyl is EXCELLENT MINUS condition I can see only a couple of light hair lines although there is a more prominent mark in the dead wax but none have any detrimental affect of the play back of this side. Side two has a few really light scuff mark and again only a couple of very light hairlines but I have test played this record and it plays superbly all the way. The vinyl has a lovely sheen when tilted in the light and grades a conservative VERY GOOD ++. This is one of those pressings that is much, much rarer than most collectors realize including myself. I know many serious Stooges collectors from all over the world and this pressing surprised all of them. The Stooges records have been rising in value steadily over the last few years and it`s not so long ago you could pick up a Stooges debut and Funhouse First UK pressings for £50 or £60. Now you would need to write a check for ten times that amount and rising ! To the completest collector this impossible to locate Australian beauty is a must. After the Stooges recent tours,their induction into the Rock n Roll the book total hall of fame,the excellent book Total Chaos and the film Gimme Danger the Stooges profile has been raised considerably . So the value of their rare records is certain to soar ! Where ever this auction ends up at , the final price will in no way reflect the true rarity of this great item. Many many times rarer than both the UK and the Japanese pressings of this great LP. I will concede that both the Jap and the UK copies are more valuable and more highly prized as collectors pieces than this beautiful Australian gem. But are they better ? Take a good long look at those incredible BLUE BUTTERFLY labels....This pressing is a corker !!! And one day not only Stooges collectors ,but all record collectors will know this.

All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves. This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition of the original inner sleeve .
