Description

Here's a 1967 US STEREO PRESSING of THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP'S  US DEBUT LP on the UNITED ARTIST LABEL. CAT#UAS6578.  Spencer Davis was a very good lead singer and guitarist, and had the great sense to bring in Stevie Winwood.  However, that quickly backfired when Winwood completely out-shined Davis.  Spencer also allowed Winwood to write most of the songs, including the title track.  Winwood took full advantage of the opportunity, and Gimmie some loving' was not only a hit at the time, but remains an iconic song in the history of rock music.  It's unusual for a keyboard player to out shine the guitarist in a rock band.  So, Winwood would go on to huge projects like Blind Faith, Traffic, Go, and his own LPs.  He's had a huge storied career, and Spencer Davis will always be known for this LP. and helping to launch the career of Stevie Winwood.
This copy is amazing.  The cover is beautiful, just a notch below NEAR MINT.  It has bold and beautiful colors on the cover, seams and spine are in  great shape with no splits or anything of the sort.  The back cover shows a touch of toning from age, but is perfect. Of note, is that Chris Blackwell is listed as producer.  He would of course go on to form Island Records and go on to champion artists as diverse as Bob Marley, Nick Drake, U2 and the B52s.  The Vinyl plays perfectly, and the labels are beautiful.  It's NEAR MINT.
Most of these SDG LPs are beat.  Here's a great opportunity to add this beautiful copy to your library.
