Description

The Sounds of Ardingly  Very rare  Private School Choral LP  HERITAGE 

HER 1001  produced by Lyntone 2479  1971 ?

Although LP is undated and I can ( perhaps not surprisingly ) find anything  on the internet about this -  I am guessing the date from the lyntone Matrix number is about 1971

Ardingly College in Sussex  has a rich tradition since being founded in 1853- and  has had its fair share of famous ex pupils including  Actor Terry Thomas , Writer Neil Gaiman, 

News presenter jon Snow and Ian Hislop who was head boy and is now  editor of Private eye and TV panelist

Side one is a sound portrait of daily life in the school back in the early 70s 

It is  largely a series of interviews with a number of ex pupils and staff with

sound clips of lessons , The tuck shop etc .

 There is a small skip midway which I suspect is a pressing flaw - LYNTONE were known for pressing flexi- discs rather than full length  LPs- which may have had an impact on the sound quality.

Side Two is a musical presentation

CONDITION SLEEVE IS EXCELLENT   

VINYL Although VISUALLY EXCELLENT  AUDIBLY VERY GOOD   with crackles in the quietest sections  

 

1 pop midway  What Cheer one further pop on last track  Nunc Dimittis 


Another ridiculously Rare LP - qite possibly the first to be offered on E bay or indeed the Internet for that matter !
