NOTES...The Sound - "Physical World E.P." - Here is a superb original copy of the incredibly rare 1979 debut 3-track 7" single / EP by the legendary Adrian Borland fronted UK punk / new wave band The Sound . Produced only once,and in a very limited edition private label pressing, probably less than 1,000 copies, this is the awesome debut 7" EP from Adrian Borland's incendiary post-punk outfit The Sound. Taut,riveting music somewhere between Echo & the Bunnymen,Joy Division,and The Stooges. Released in 1979,this EP preceded the album "Jeopardy" and features an alternate version of "Unwritten Law" which would also appear on that album. The other two tracks are both non-LP songs. Prior to The Sound's formation Adrian Borland (vocals/guitar) had already released "Calling On Youth" and "Close Up", and the "One To Infinity" EP on Raw Edge (a label run by Adrian's parents) as leader of UK's Outsiders from 1977-78. Towards the end of 1978 Graham Green joined the band, replacing the original bass player, Bob Lawrence, and Michael Dudley (drums) was recruited to play alongside Adrian Janes (percussion). The new line-up recorded three tracks, which emerged on the Tortch label as the "Physical World" EP in December 1979, credited not as the Outsiders but as The Sound. They had progressed musically from their punk roots and were anxious to leave behind a name that still conjured up the atmosphere of 1977. The Sound disbanded in 1988 after releasing six albums and several singles. Sadly singer and songwriter Adrian Borland committed suicide in 1999. The winner of this seminal post-punk classic will, I am sure, be very proud to own it and it is leaping up in value every year! Bid with confidence! Low starting price with no reserve!

Packing Procedures: All records are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit.When posted the records are removed from the covers,if possible,and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent any sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new top quality mailers, either the envelope style with super thick stiffeners to stop any sleeve bends in transit, or the “cruciform” style that wrap around the 12"/lp. I aim to dispatch within 48 hours of receiving payment . It is recommended that you choose the option for recorded delivery (within UK) or registered delivery (for Europe and Rest of the World) for higher value items . I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged that are not shipped by recorded / registered mail . I obtain a certificate proof of posting for every item sent .
