Description
The Soul Stirrers are one of the oldest and most influential quartets in Black Gospel music. Most of their fame revolves around the early ground breaking period with R. H. Harris and the later highly regarded years with the great Sam Cooke. However, the Soul Stirrers always had a deep wealth of vocal talents that never quite got their due.
When Sam Cooke left the group to achieve fame as the King of Soul he retained an interest in The Soul Stirrers and in Gospel music.
