Absolutely gorgeous copy of the incredibly rare 1975 original pressing of the self-titled Soul Messengers LP on CBS 81146, pressed in Israel. Classic soul-funk rarity featuring several legendary groovers such as the now-famous funk instrumental Burn Devil Burn. Reissued recently but this is the rare original, nearly impossible to find, especially in this sort of stunning condition. The disc is very nearly perfectly mint and doesn’t appear to have been played much if at all. The cover has a promo hole punched at the lower right, and only a bit of light wear, mainly a bit of whitening here and there at the corners and edges, and soft creasing at the upper left, as well as minor disc impression. These flimsy Israeli covers from the 70s are often way more worn than this one, which I would say is exceptionally clean compared to most, and definitely exceptional compared to other copies of this record I have seen that have sold, and that is only a handful over the last 20 years or so. I don’t see on any “sold item” sites that there have been more than a half dozen sold at all in the last 20 years. So rare. And a truly magnificent copy. Just about impossible to beat.
