THE SOFT MACHINE First self-titled album. Way cool die-cut cover. Command ABC PROBE CPLP 4500 STEREO EXCELLENT CONDITION
This is the original pressing including the uncensored die cut cover which includes female rear nudity.
The disc is in immaculate condition. Plays beautifully.
The jacket is almost perfect, too. This is a gatefold album, which also has another image of the nude woman seated. No ring wear.
The inner sleeve is plain white, with hole. There are no splits or tears.
There is a tiny cutout hole lower right which doesn't go through the inner sleeve (or the disc -- obviously).
The only wear to speak of is at the corners, and minor shelf wear on the bottom of the front edge. The wear at the bottom corner of the spine (where back meets front) can be seen in closeup in the last of the images.

The Soft Machine were the opening act for Jimi Hendrix on his first U.S. tour. So, if they're good enough for Jimi...
They were more of an experimental band, best compared perhaps to King Crimson or Pink Floyd. They might be classified using any of these descriptors: acid, psychedelic, progressive, jazz... and of course, rock.
The Soft Machine were a trio: guitar, organ and drums, though the guitarist also played bass on tracks.
This album is a classic example of the "progressive" bands coming out of England in the "psychedelic sixties," as opposed to the more popular "heavy" rock/blues sounds of bands like Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Ten Years After, The Who, Jethro Tull, the Stones etc.
Okay, but is it good? Well, that's up to the listener. The Soft Machine never got major airplay over here, but as I said, Jimi liked 'em...
