THE PICTURES YOU SEE ARE OF THE ACTUAL ITEM YOU ARE BIDDING ON.  I NEVER USE "STOCK" PICTURES THAT HIDE BLEMISHES OR OTHER PROBLEMS.

ITEM:    Rare and In-Demand Garage/Underground LP, " Wink ", by The Shaggs (the original Notre Dame group, NOT the later all girl group). Released on the MCM label, Lo-Fi private Pressing by International Recording Studio, Chicago. Catalog number MCM-6311 MONO. 

COMMENTS / CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection. It is not a beat-up LP bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played. Please see the attached pictures for the Track Listings.  

Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

FYI -  the"MCM" label name is from the first three letters of the last name of the producer, Brian McMahon (a fellow student at Notre Dame).

The photo on the front cover is a close up of the guitarist/organist, Geoff Gillette.

The members are: Ted Poulos, Geoff Gillette - guitars; Ray Wheatley - Bass; Franklin Krakowski - Drums. Vocals are shared by Rick Medich, Ted Poulos,Geoff Gillette, and Ray Wheatley. 

Vinyl is in strong VG to VG+ Condition, retaining much of the original luster. Light surface spotting is visible as a result of the manufacturing process. These "spots" can not be felt and do not affect the playback. A close inspection shows a few scuffs/hairlines that are cosmetic, and do not detract from the listening experience. There are no warps, cracks, chips, or groove wear. On my older system, both sides played with clean sound, and occasional soft surface noise.  No harsh surface noise, skips or groove lock (repeats).

This is commonly referred to as a "Lo-Fi" private pressing, done at a cut-rate "discount" facility. The entire record was recorded and produced in one 20 hour long marathon session, probably to save money. Bargain priced studios often did not have top of the line equipment that major studios used. As a result, many private pressings did not have "Hi-Fi" Mono audio. Over the years I have listened to several copies of Wink (1st Pressings and the Re-issues), and all share the same less than perfect sound quality. These are not defective copies, the occasional surface noise is present on the original Master Tapes/Discs and was  transferred to all pressings.

NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.

Labels are in good condition with no peeling edges, rips, or writing. Wispy spindle tracks are visible, but center hole remains perfectly round with no signs of abusive playing.

The cover is in strong VG+ Condition, with crisp, clear graphics and lettering. There are no bent corners, writing, stickers, labels, or price tags. Light rub wear is present, and there is minor shelf wear/chipping along the edges, All seams are strong with no splits. Spine is firm and straight. This is not a cut-out -   there are no punch holes, notches, or clipped corners.

Other than gently wiping the vinyl with a moistened cotton cloth to remove any loose dust particles, I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.
