THE RECORD HAS GREEN LABELS WITH GOLD LETTERING. IN EX COND.

 

This is the only Shadows album that features Brian Licorice Locking who replaced Jet Harris mid away through this album's creation. This album is also the first album for Brian Bennett.

Only track Little B has been used to promote this album when on tour in 1962 and has been used as 1st choice Shadows drum solo for live concerts from 1962 to 2004.

The British public in 1961-62 anticipated an all instrumental second album but the Shadows and Paramor wanted to produce an album showcasing their numerous diverse talents instead. It suffers only from the unnecessary intrusion of 3 more below-par vocals which might have been better served by more instrumentals. By contrast the Ventures' second album was an all instrumental one.

This album reached the no.1 slot in the UK album charts in 1962. No singles were ripped from it though 2 EPs were ripped from it viz: "Out of the Shadows" and "Out of the Shadows no.2" both in mono and stereo.

However, notwithstanding the criticisms, this second album heavily features 6 (out of 13) all new original compositions written by all members of the Shadows in various permutations thus contradicting many British authors (with a pro-Beatles agenda) who all claim that this period of British pop music "Before-Beatles" history was 100% influenced and dominated by "tin-pan alley" song writers who wrote their material at offices in London's fashionable west end.
