THE RUTS, THE CRACK LP, 1979 ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING, VIRGIN, V2132
The photos show the actual LP you’ll receive and demonstrates the condition of the disc and sleeve.
Probably one of my favourite records in my collection. 40 years old (the record, that is, I’m quite a lot more than that) and I still love it.
Delighted to see from a reference site that this was the first pressing. And I love the comments stamped on the pressing. Hilarious.
Matrix / Runout (Side A, etched - variant 1): V-2132-A6 (STRAWBERRY stamped) GRIN AND BARE IT FOR (US scratched out) (YOU typed) ?
Matrix / Runout (Side B, etched - variant 1): V-2132-B4 IF YOULL GRIN AND BEAR IT FOR US (STRAWBERRY stamped) ?
What I didn’t realise was the number of famous people in the cover portrait: Jimmy Pursey (at 4 o'clock), astronomer Patrick Moore (at 8 o'clock), John Peel (with a girl on his lap, at 9 o'clock), Peter Cook & Dudley Moore (at 11 o'clock), Keith Richards (at 1 o'clock), Rat Scabies and Captain Sensible (at 2 o'clock) and Jimi Hendrix (at 3 o'clock).
The LP will be posted in a proper cardboard LP packing box to give it as much protection as possible. That's why the postage price is more than just the Royal Mail cost. It will be posted 2nd class. Delivery will take 5 days – I need to get time to get to a Post Office when it’s open.
