The following guidelines are used for records and their jackets (boxes).

RECORDS:

FS:  Factory sealed, i.e. a mint record or a new record.

NM:   Near mint records are records that are not new, but appear to be defect free, visually they usually look very clean and have none or a very few surface mars.

NM - : (Near mint minus)  A record with a minimum of surface mars and spindle trails.

NM-/VG+ :  A record with minimal areas of low level recurring noise.

VG+ :  A record with possibly several areas of low level noise,  i.e. a well used record.

VG : A record with constant noise, where noise can be severe.

JACKETS (BOXES, etc.):

FS :  Factory sealed

NM:  Generally is in new condition.

NM- :  (Near mint minus),  a little less than NM.

NM-/VG+ :  May have one or two minor defects.

VG+ :   A variety of defects may be present, such as ringwear, edgewear, corner wear, split seams and/or taped seams,  shelf wear.

Most records are visually insepected only.  I do play many records to grade them.  To me, there are no absolutely perfect records,  not even factory sealed ones.  Records are not CD's and I believe all have imperfections,  pressing bubbles for example, and other innate defects.  Having said all the above, I do try my very best to describe a record album honestly.  Records have been a life long hobby for me, as I have collected them nearly all my life.  I can't say I am a perfect grader, but uisually I am spot on.  I am very amenable to making adjustments if you are not satisified with a record:  either a full refund or a partial adjustment, which ever you might prefer.  I do not run a business, I am only a hobbyist.
