Out Of Our Heads is really the first great Stones album. The maturation of the Jagger/Richards songwriting partnership is clearly evident, as their writing fits their blues roots as well as their love for R&B. The skills of Jones, Wyman, and Watts are also growing by leaps and bounds, especially Jones, who is developing some of his influences further and is shaping up his band to be one of the greatest, not just of the 60s but of all time. There remain several covers, but in terms of variety, it reflects the strength of the Stones as a unit.
