ORIGINAL 1966 UK FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE.

This is one of the very first Aftermath LPs to ever be pressed. FACTORY SAMPLE TEST PRESSINGS  are pressed in tiny numbers their chief roll being to test the quality control of the record. To see exactly what the music will sound like following the acetate stage when the music is finally pressed to vinyl. Once everyone is satisfied the go ahead is given to press the stock copies to be sent into the shops for sale to the public.So this is the stage we have here. At Decca records ALL the MONO FACTORY TEST  PRESSINGS were given solid blue labels.ALL the STEREO FACTORY TEST PRESSINGS were half pink half blue.As you can see this is in STEREO. Double click the pictures note the deep groove Stereo label  with the handwritten matrix numbers. Beautiful. Both labels are in EXCELLENT order.The original inner sleeve is present but this LP has no LP SLEEVE.REMEMBER this is the TEST PRESSING STAGE and the sleeves were probaly not even made yet ! The vinyl has a lot of hairlines to both sides and a couple  of marks that look worse than they sound.The good news is it plays all the way through without jumping or sticking or skipping.There is background noise and some crackle but it is still very enjoyable I would say it plays 7 out of 10. The best I could grade it due to the hairlines etc would be very good.Rolling Stones FACTORY TEST PRESSINGS are exceptionally rare, opportunities to own one rarely ever come along. All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves.

This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing  the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition of the original inner sleeve.

Whenever anyone mentions The Rolling Stones albums,it is always Let it Bleed,

Sticky Fingers or Exile on main street that they talk about and certainly that gets the most attention.You never hear anyone talk about Aftermath.Dig out your own  copy of Aftermath and play it.....Isnt it Magnificent from start to finish with no weak filler  points at all.Total genius !!! Think about what we have here...One of the VERY FIRST COPIES the industry ever had pressed.An inside item that was never intended of ever making its way  outside of those factory walls !!! RARE, is sometimes just too inadequate a word for some items, that is certainly the  case here.The Rolling Stones Test Pressings never come up for sale anywhere because real Rolling Stones collectors realize exactly what, and how rare they are. So they remain PROUDLY tucked away as the centerpieces of many of the best Rolling Stones collections IN THE WORLD.  Because seriously, collecting Rolling Stones records seldom flys higher than a GENUINE DECCA TEST PRESSING.     And someone realizes this, because I have had 4 people making offers and asking do I have a  buy it now price. Does`nt everything on the planet have a buy it now price ? But no ones reached it because we all like a bargain, and most of us collectors tend to think in the same sort of way.
