The Rolling Stones, Same.
Original 1964 UK pressed Decca Records mono LP, LK 4605.
Earliest Decca grooved pressing with 2A/4A matrix suffixes.
Not mint, but in far better condition than is usual for this LP. All UK record dealers will testify that this LP seems to be one of the most poorly treated of the era. Not an especially rare LP but so tough to find one that would even struggle with a G grade.
Vinyl visually near EX. Surfaces are still very glossy and display just a very few minor scuff marks. No deep or feelable scratches.
Playback is very clean and crisp and conservatively grades VG plus as some very low level and unobtrusive background crackle is occasionally audible at the separator bands and very few quieter moments. Generally however the tracks play EX in the main. A very tiny marks causes some barely perceptible ticks at the very end of side two but there are no loud ticks or clicks, consecutive or otherwise.
Labels are clean and undefaced but there are three pieces of sellotape adhered to the B side. Spindle wear is moderate but not excessive to the point of whitening wear.
Original poly-lined inner sleeve EX with the usual minor corner creasing.
External sleeve is not perfect but again is cleaner than usually found. Has not yet started to brown and brittle. The front panel has a number of linear imperfections to the laminate and just a hint of storage ringwear but is free of the usual heavy wear and creasing that dogs so many of these issues. The front panel still has very bold and unfaded colour saturation.
The matt rear panel has some minor marks and pen damage, evident in the photo. It is noticeable that there has been some surface loss to the right hand edge of the rear and the N and G in the large name of the band have been tidied up with black marker pen. This is not as obtrusive as it sounds however. A small tan liquid tide mark stain to bottom left rear. Else not too bad and not really heavily stained or browned. Corners whitened and rounded a little, mor so at right hand edge. Edges sound however and spine intact with all text visible.
All in all a very acceptable issue of this LP.
