Description

Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!

I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90%+ of the LP's i've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, i've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, i'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!

I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS i've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!

I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Title : The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones (Selftitled Debut)

Label & year : Original "Unboxed" Decca LK 4605 LP , OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE Mono 1964 TRUE UK WITHDRAWN 1st Press with 2:52 Tell Me and "You Can Make It You Try" Misprint sleeve !!!

Matrix's : Side A : XARL-6271-2A , Side B : XARL-6272-2A (EARLIEST 1/B STAMPERS ON BOTH SIDES!!!)

NOW THIS IS EASILY ONE OF THE VERY RAREST STONES LP EVER COMMERCIALLY RELEASED!!! MOST DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS EXISTS!!! WE'VE ALL HEARD OF THE 2:52 "TELL ME" WITH THE XARL-6272-1A MATRIX, BUT THIS OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE XARL-6272-2A EXAMPLE ALSO HAS THE WITHDRAWN 2:52 DEMO TAKE OF "TELL ME" TOO!!!

ONLY ONE MINISCULE RUN OF 300 WERE EVER PRESSED JUST BEFORE BEING RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH THE CORRECT 4:06 TAKE, RESULTING IN WITHOUT QUESTION EASILY THE VERY RAREST VARIATION OF THEIR MAGNIFICENT DEBUT!!! I'D SAY THIS IS OUTNUMBERED BY 1A 1A AND 2A 1A EXAMPLES BY AT LEAST 10 TO 1!!! IT QUITE SIMPLY NEVER EVER TURNS UP!!!

CONTAINS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RECORDING OF "TELL ME", THE VERY FIRST JAGGER RICHARDS SONG TO EVER BE RELEASED!!! BARELY ANY OF THESE EVER ESCAPED THE PRESSING PLANT, AND ONLY A SMALL FRACTION WOULD HAVE SURVIVED THE PAST FIVE DECADES!!! AND NOT ONLY THAT, THIS EXAMPLE SOUNDS BRILLIANT TOO!!!

AND IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, THIS ALSO HAS THE OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE WITHDRAWN "YOU CAN MAKE IT YOU TRY" SLEEVE MISPRINT AND "MONA" (INSTEAD OF THE INTENDED "I NEED YOU BABY") ERRORS ON SLEEVE AND VINYL!!!

SO HARD TO FIND THIS HISTORIC MILESTONE IN ROCK WITH IMPOSSIBLE 2A 2A MATRIXES AND MISPRINT SLEEVE!!! Do NOT miss out on this, for it will surely be a VERY long time before an example comes around again - if ever!!! Don't miss out, bid now!!!

In the frenzy of launching the first ever LP by this iconic band, that would eventually go on to be the biggest and best in the world, someone at Decca mistakenly used an earlier take of Tell Me on the master instead of the re-recording that we all know and love (though in my opinion, this earlier version is probably better)!!! This was noticed JUST after pressing had begun and was IMMEDIATELY repressed with the correct 4:06 take, resulting in this being THE very rarest commercially released Stones LP out there!!! And not only that, this record is the ONLY time this version of Tell Me has EVER been issued!!!

Tracklist : Route 66, I Just Want To Make Love To You, Honest I Do, I Need You Baby, Now I've Got A Witness (Like Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene), Little By Little, I'm A King Bee, Carol, Tell Me (You're Coming Back), Can I Get A Witness, You Can Make It If You Try, and Walking The Dog.

Musicians : Mick Jagger - Vocals, Keith Richard - Guitar, Charlie Watts - Drums, Bill Wyman - Bass, Brian Jones - Guitar and everything else!, and Andrew Loog Oldham - Producer.

Trivia : This was the first band who had the balls to not put their name on the front of their debut LP!!!

About : IMPOSSIBLY RARE Original 1964 WITHDRAWN 2A 2A UK 1st Press!!! This RIDICULOUSLY RARE LP initially sold literally next to NOTHING (it never got the chance to) and had a MINISCULE run, and is UNBELIEVABLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! An absolute classic debut LP from the greatest rock & roll band of all time!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be the centrepiece of EVERY serious 60's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this PHENOMENALLY RARE LP!!! If you like good music and owning a priceless piece of history, bid now!!!

The LP :

Labels :

Classic UK 1964 red ridged "Unboxed" Decca 1st Press labels!!! Both sides are GREAT with minimal signs of age, NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has some light spindle marks from general light use over the years!!! BRILLIANT for a 49 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Very Good!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Original Decca WITHDRAWN 2A 2A 1964 UK Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks great with NO excessively nasty marks, NO deep scratches that ruin playback, and NO vicious scuffs either!!! It just has a few of the usual light, wispy sleeve traces, some light scratches and a few cosmetic scuffs, and a few mild non-sounding hairlines (only visible in angled light) mostly from where they have sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these blemishes interfere with play, and they CERTAINLY don't effect the smoothness of it's playing!!! Well used, but still GREAT for a record of this age and rarity!!! Both must grade overall visually at least as Good++!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)   Record : Audio -    Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds GREAT with NO hops, hisses, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has low level static in places such as on the run in grooves, only a small amount of the rarest light ticks in few and far between places, and just a hint of ULTRA mild and light "bluesman's fag" atmospheric crackle here and there such as on some of the quieter sections, but it truly doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! An outstanding listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl!!! The withdrawn Tell Me track plays awesomely!!! Absolutely essential!!! FANTASTIC for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably at the least as Very Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)   Sleeve :    Original UK 1964 front laminated WITHDRAWN Mona and Make It You Try misprint "MacNeill" sleeve complete with original inner!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is not too bad at all and looks great, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO tears, NO splits, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few signs of usual light ageing such as some laminate creasing and signs of a record imprint, some general minor ageing to the unlaminated back such as creaming to the white colour and some vague age spots here and there (nothing too drastic at all - no coffee cup rings, writing OR graffiti!!!), vague sticker remains to the top right of the front (should clean right away), a touch of denting to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by emphasizing the negatives, but despite some ageing, this remains a GREAT sleeve, and a rarity to find one as presentable, strong, and as undamaged as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains strong, solid, unsplit, and completely readable!!! Must grade overall at least as Good+!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)   Summary : A BRILLIANT sounding example of this UNBELIEVABLY RARE classic WITHDRAWN UK 1964 2A 2A 1964 Decca LP!!! You simply can't find this in ANY condition, so to find a 2A 2A example as sonically awesome as this is a TRUE rarity indeed!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this chance to own a true piece of 60's music history!!! Bid now!!!   Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
