Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Rolling Stones and some progressive records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare second U.K. STEREO EXPORT pressing of The Rolling Stones – Flowers on the BLUE BOXED Decca label, cat. no. SKL 4888. This is, I believe, a pressing from 1970.
The record is in VG++ condition, there are some non-sounding hairlines. I have test played this record and it plays great. It is a common fact that these old Decca pressings can take a lot of damage and still play very well. The side 1 label is in VG condition, there are some spindle marks. The Side 2 label is VG condition as well, with also some spindle marks and a small spot of print loss along the spindle hole. The matrix endings on this record are 1W / 1W.
The cover is in VG++ condition, the main thing is that there is a small sticker tear on the back on the flower leaf with Charlie’s picture. Besides that, there is no serious damage to this cover.
The record comes with an original 1970’s Decca inner sleeve (with the four blue squares on side), which is in VG++ condition. Besides a little age browning, some handling wear and glue staines are coming though from the inside, this inner on the opening edge, this inner sleeve still looks very presentable.
This is an extremely rare, if not impossibly rare second U.K. STEREO EXPORT pressing of the Rolling Stones’ Flowers album. Speaking from my own personal experience, second pressings of The Rolling Stones’ Flowers album are rarer than first pressed Stereo copies. In all my years of collecting records, I have seen many Unboxed stereo copies of this album and only a few Boxed copies. This album is very hard to find, and although not in a dream mint condition, this is a very rare opportunity to own one, especially this one. This is a real opportunity for all Rolling Stones fans to complete a life time collection! Happy Bidding!
