REST OF SIDE PLAYS EX SIDE 3 IN EX CONDITION; SIDE 4 IN VG CONDITION DUE TO 2 SCRATCHES ON ‘SHINE A LIGHT’ (TRACK 3) WHICH DO SOUND BUT DID NOT SKIP ON MY TURNTABLE.

First copy, with the harder to find D1 matrix on side 4 (most copies had D2). UK EARLY PRESS, CONSIDERED TO BE THE STONES’ BEST ALBUM ALONG WITH ‘STICKY FINGERS’. EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND AN EARLY ISSUE IN EXCELLENT OR BETTER CONDITION!

This auction is for a great original UK press of ‘Exile on Main Street’ by the Rolling Stones, released in May 1972. Earliest matrix numbers A2/B1/C1/D1, nice thick heavy vinyl.

This has been played right through and played flawlessly on my system, just a little bit of light surface noise on some quieter parts but nothing that overpowers the music. Note tiny skip on side 2 the feelable scratches on side 4 but these don’t skip, stick or jump. A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE AN EXCELLENT EARLY COPY OF THIS CLASSIC ALBUM!
Side one and side three are in EXCELLENT condition visually with a few light non-sounding lines and a few light ticks on the quieter parts which don’t overpower the music. Playback on sides one and three is EXCELLENT PLUS. Sides two and four I have downgraded to VG. All labels are in EXCELLENT condition with a few spindle lines but nothing nasty. Sleeves shown in photos are the ones that the record will be sent in to winning buyer.
The records have been wet cleaned and playing surfaces remain very shiny. Playback on is EXCELLENT PLUS. All labels are in EXCELLENT condition with a few spindle lines but nothing nasty. Sleeves shown in photos are the ones that the record will be sent in to winning buyer.
Cover is VG condition, no nasty marks, edge wear visible and wear to spine. Early covers of this album are notorious for being fragile and turning up marked, ripped or stained. Both inners in EX condition, no rips or tears. The records will be sent in polylined inners for maximum protection, these fit nicely into the original cardboard inners.
Despite the above-mentioned issues, this is still a very nice early issue of this classic LP. No returns accepted.
