The Rolling Stones : Black And Blue A1/B1 1st Press

I purchased a collection recently among which were a stunning set Stones' records.  I have listed a number of them already and have graded each track individually.  However, such is their quality there is no real need to do this but rest assured I will still listen to every track in full so as to provide a 'correct' grading and will state any imperfections even if minor.

Play grading

This first pressing plays with audio that is so deep and rich and clearly has hardly ever been played.  The sonic quality on both sides is outstanding.  'Hot Stuff' start proceedings with perfect Mint audio and the rest of S1 is of the same 'high end' standard.  The vast majority of S2 is of the same quality and only 'Fool To Cry' has a little background static which is hardly noticeable as it so quiet and only on the intro is it a little more obvious.  Aside from that the clarity and depth on this side is stunning, it could not play any better.

Visual grading

The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a superb glossy sheen.  There is one small faint mark on S1 but has no affect on the audio and S2 has only a couple of faint hairlines.  There are no marks or scratches.  The record does have a slight warp when you play S2 - it has a minor 'bowl' type affect but it still 'sits' well and has no affect on the stylus or needle.

The Gatefold & Inner

The cover is almost 'as new' with only a little corner wear at the top of the spine.  The edges have hardly any rubbing and the opening edge is pristine.  The front and back cover have no marking and the inside is near perfect with only a small number of white 'specks'.  The die-cut inner has no side splits or tears and remains in superb condition.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

I grade according to "Record Collector" guidelines.
