Description

THE ROLLING STONES - AFTERMATH 1966 UK 1st press STEREO DECCA Unboxed 2W.

2W MATRIX STEREO UNBOXED LABEL

This is from my own collection, I am not a dealer, in the next few months I am selling off part of my collection, some rarities and collectible, no filler! Thanks for looking!

`Vault Stored` Collectors rare Nr Ex vinyl and the original blue decca stereo inner sleeve NR Ex Vinyl and NR Ex sleeve,

THIS IS A VAULT STORED COPY nr ex nice punchy AUDIO with great seperatation in the stereo playback real nice mix.

its the first of the Stones early releases to feauture only self composed music so a real milestone for the band, Brian Jones introduces Sitar and Baroque to the UK public radio and record shops April 66 ,

these were offered in mono or stereo until around late 70 or 71. The 5th Stones UK studio albulm. Recorded in early 66 in USA on tour at RCA studios California catches the now changing mood of the later 60s vibe with some new sounds for the band moving away from RB, for us the `new at the time` stereo is a clear winner over the Mono versions but over to the listener...

some  of the music on this classic album has been requested many times on the Stones live setlist over the last 20 years , interesting styles of Indian Sitar and Apalachian Dulcimer mixing with some their great rock tunes with ` Mothers little helper` `Under my Thumb` and `Lady Jane` and `Out of Time` all jumping out from the glorious new Stereo players in UK, 3 of these being standout singles success for the band.

released in USA on London Records label only this is a niceApril 66 `Decca Unboxed` UK 60s original Produced by Andrew Loog Oldham

went Silver in UK with surprising sales of just 60,000 and platinum in USA with 1,000,000 units selling now the lower volume UK copies in decent order are getting hard to find...

it was also the first Stones Albulm to be recorded in True Stereo as in 66 things Stereo recording was much further advanced in the US studios at this period

The US London label releases were much shorter in length it was considered by Decca non comercial to have too much tracktime on an US albulm from a British Pop Act

at 26 mins per side this was not the norm in the US!

a different version was released on London records at 18 mins side 1 and 24 mins side 2 so there is quite a lot of difference...
