Description
LP - THE PUPILS - A TRIBUTE TO THE ROLLING STONES
WING - WL.1150
1966
RARITY: EXTREMELY RARE INDEED AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!
THIS IS EASILY THE RAREST & MOST SOUGHT AFTER LP ON THE WING LABEL - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE! BACK IN 1966 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN VERY SMALL AMOUNTS AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED! AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY TOUGH TO LOCATE TODAY! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL - IS THAT IT IS THE RAREST LP EVER RELEASED ON THE WING LABEL - AND IS ACTUALLY THE AMAZING PSYCH BAND 'THE EYES' UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME!!!
THIS LP IS PARTICULARLY SOUGHT AFTER - AS THE BAND ON THE LP IS ACTUALLY 'THE EYES' RECORDING UNDER A PSEUDONYM! THE EYES WERE AN AMAZING PSYCH/FREAKBEAT BAND OF THE HIGHEST ORDER AND GAVE AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB PERFORMANCE ON THIS LP! MANY 'TRIBUTE' LPS ARE NOT THAT GREAT - WITH SUBSTANDARD MUSICAL EFFORTS AND MANY ARE SIMPLY NOT WORTH LISTENING TO. BUT NOT THIS ONE!!!! THE SHEER CLASS OF 'THE EYES' SHINES THROUGH ON THIS LP WITH SOME AMAZING TRACKS!!!! JUST LISTEN TO THE FANTASTIC 'PSYCH' GUITAR ON THE MIDDLE SECTION OF 'I WANNA BE YOUR MAN' (TOTALLY TRANSFORMING THE TRACK), THE AMAZING BASS GUITAR WORK ON '19TH NERVOUS BREAKDOWN', AND CRISP CLEAR GUITAR WORK ON 'THE LAST TIME'!! CLEARLY A TOP QUALITY BAND IN EVERY MUSICAL SENSE - AND IT IS AMAZING THAT THEY FAILED TO MAKE IT BIGGER THEMSELVES!
COVER = VERY GOOD + = SIDE SPINE WEAR ( VERY LIGHT SPINE SPLIT ) ABOUT 2CM
VINYL = VERY GOOD + = ( LP = NICE SHEEN SOME LIGHT SURFACE MARKS STILL PLAYS FANTASTIC )

MANY THANKS....
My records are condition graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:
MINT (M): Unplayed, pristine condition, often still sealed.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in almost brand new condition with no apparent surface marks, full original vinyl lustre, and no deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in near perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and/or packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record obviously has been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and/or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably, perhaps with some distortion and/or scratches. The cover and/or contents may suffer from folding, scuffing, spine-splits, major discolouration, etc.
+ or - indicates a grading in between the given categories..
