Description:

A unique opportunity to own a "Time Capsule" copy of the 1986 Garage/Mod masterpiece In From The Cold by The Prisoners.

Provenance:

This copy was acquired directly from the Stiff Records/Countdown team in 1986. At the time, I was working as a photographer on Bayham Street (Camden Town), right next door to the Stiff Records offices. This album was given to me by the staff and has remained in my collection, completely unplayed, for nearly 40 years.

Condition Details:

  • Vinyl: MINT. This record has never been played. It features the original green Countdown "54321" labels which are pristine with no spindle marks.

  • Matrix: Verified first pressing: DOWN 2 A1 / DOWN 2 B1.

  • Sleeve: NM / Excellent. Kept in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment since 1986. Edges are sharp, colors are vibrant, and there is no ring wear. A few stress lines from 40 years of following me around the globe.

About the Release:

Released on Countdown Records (a boutique label run by Eddie Piller under the Stiff Records umbrella), this first pressing became an instant rarity when Stiff Records faced financial difficulties shortly after the album’s release. Finding an unplayed A1/B1 copy with this level of clear provenance is exceptionally rare.

Shipping:

Will be packed professionally in a heavy-duty vinyl mailer with stiffeners. The record will be removed from the outer sleeve for shipping to prevent seam splits.
