Description

NEW RULES:
We've had an outbreak of flaky bidders. These dubious folks run bids up high and then fade out on us, leaving us in a state of confusion and turmoil. Thus, we must post some guidelines for the less enabled amongst us:

YOUR WINNING BID IS AN AGREEMENT THAT YOU WILL PAY FOR ANY ITEM(s) YOU HAVE WON!

It's that simple. We expect you to honor your bid(s) with us. If you anticipate any problems in payment, you must contact us and set up some terms of payment. Anyone who welshes on a bid will be reported to eBay as a non-paying bidder.

The majority of our eBay customers are great people--stand-up folks who make honest bids and expect the best in return. This message does not go out to you... it's a precaution against those who bid for thrills, but never intend to pay. To those unfortunates, we suggest this: please seek counseling--you may have a gambling addiction.

And now, onto our auction:

THE POPPIES
LULLABY OF LOVE

EPIC RECORDS LP LN-24200

 (MONO US LP)

A gorgeous mono radio-station promo pressing of this very scarce, colorful Epic LP by one of the many groups who tried to, er, toy with the formula of "A Lover's Concerto!" Produced by BILLY SHERILL in Nashville, this album is also notable for its unapologetic full color cover of the three African-American singers of the group. Most record companies were still playing it safe, with relatively bland images on their soul/R&B LPs.

CONDITION:

SLEEVE: Foxing and discoloration to cover's back sleeve. Front panel retains great color and vibrance. Rubwear almost completely absent. Spine's copy is fully legible, with some wear at outer ends. One corner dinged; other three are fine. Seams are very clean and smooth. Were the back panel not discolored, I'd rate this sleeve much higher. As is, the sleeve is, front to back, EX-/VG.

VINYL: White-label disc says RADIO STATION COPY on both sides. This was pressed prior to the commercial release of the album. Paper scuffs (superficial) and small smudges to shiny surfaces, which could use a quick clean-up. Labels beautiful. This album is a solid EX.

This is one of an ongoing group of classic pop, rock, soul, psych and prog LPs from the 1960s and '70s. They're all from the legendary collection of DAVID A. YOUNG!
Grab ‘em before they’re gone—you won’t see their likes again!
