The Platters - self titled 10” album
This is the very collectable 10” pressing on Parlophone with the gold on black label. The only recording The Platters made for Parlophone. One of the most sought-after doo-wop albums! The line-up for this album was Tony Williams, Herbert Reed, Paul Robi, David Lynch and Zola Taylor (known to the boys as The Doll, The Dish and The Chick). This is a great copy of a very rare record, I would imagine that a better copy would be almost impossible to find. If you are not happy with the record in any way I offer a complete refund!

The album is on Parlophone Records, PMD 1058. Matrix side one: XE 220-1N; stamper G. Matrix side two: XE 221-1N; stamper G.
Released in 1958. UK pressing. Mono.
Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system. If I see a mark it will be mentioned however light/small, apart from the usual very light paper scuffs/marks - usually caused by record being removed from the inner sleeve, which appear on nearly all old records and which are only visible under strong light)
Vinyl side 1: very good (some light superficial scuff/scrape marks that do not affect the audio in any way. Has some intermittent light crackle in quieter bits that does not detract from your audio enjoyment. No distortion of sound whatsoever).
Vinyl side 2: very good (some light superficial scuff/scrape marks that do not affect the audio in any way. Has some intermittent light crackle in quieter bits that does not detract from your audio enjoyment. No distortion of sound whatsoever).
Cover (fully laminated): excellent (a few small crease marks on spine, great condition for almost 50 years old - see photos).
The record plays with no jumps, skips or clicks.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
