THE PLASTIC CLOUD s/t orig monster Canadian psych lp!
1968/Cdn/Allied NO. 10….here’s a rare original pressing of this monster Canadian psychedelic lp. Always in demand for one simple reason. It’s awesome and the relentless blistering fuzz guitar assault will blow you away! The cover is in solid VG+ condition, there is a delete hole bottom left corner, there is light general storage wear/soiling on the cover, there is a tiny spot of paper missing off the cover surface nearer the bottom at the opening edge, slight corner wear, heavier wear on bottom right corner, clean with no splits or other issues. The vinyl is in VG condition, side one has several light scuffs/scratches and the odd small grit scratch, side one plays through nicely with slight noise between tracks and quiet parts of which are few, during the side you will hear the occasional light tick/pop that amy sound for a handful of tmes then it’s gone, at times all you can hear is the music and overall it plays out pretty nice. side two is slightly cleaner but has a couple of scratches I can feel on track 3 “Dainty General Rides”, side two starts of with light repetitive click/pops for about half of the first track, during that time they quiet down, otherwise side two plays about the same as side one but there are a couple of clicks every revolution of the 3rd track and light pop/ticks here and there, even the ticks in the third track are not really too bad, the labels are clean with just minor light spindle marks, I think the condition is probably more due to rough handling and having no inner sleeve, as opposed to over playing as there is no groove damage and the deep groove pressing has excellent fidelity, there are no sticks, jumps, skips or other problems, includes a photo copy of the original insert, overall this is a decent copy you can enjoy listening to. Please check my auctions for other rock, and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!
The Plastic Cloud were an Ontario-based folk-rock quartet, consisting of Brian Madill (bass), Don Brewer (lead vocals, 12-string guitar), Mike Cadieux (guitar), and Randy Umphrey (drums). Formed in 1967, they managed to encompass the commercial side of the music in pleasant, Byrds-like original numbers, but also showed a much harder sound dominated by fuzztone guitar and other effects, for a much more spaced-out sound on about half of their recorded material. Madill and Umphrey were the initial partners, with Cadieux and Brewer -- who not only sang lead but wrote all of their original songs -- coming aboard next.
They were signed to Allied Records in Ontario and got one self-titled LP out which, sadly enough, never found an audience, despite beautiful production and some bold, ambitious use of psychedelic effects. Their vocals were pretty and they played better than that, and the results, with a sympathetic producer in charge, were mighty impressive -- their one album is worth hearing a lot more than once, and you get the feeling that if these guys had been working out of, say, L.A. or the Bay Area and been signed to a label with some real marketing power, they'd be a lot more than a footnote today with exactly the music they did leave behind. In 2005, Pacemaker Entertainment reissued their album on CD, and based on the results, Steven Van Zandt or CaveStomp! should be digging these guys up, if they're still around, for a gig as soon as possible. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide

MINT: as stated with no defects
NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean
EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much
VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
