The Parlour band, ‘is a friend’ AN ORIGINAL MEGA RARE 1972 ‘DERAM’ STEREO LP SDL 10.

Formed in Jersey, Channel Islands, circa 1970, as "The Parlour Band", the early line up comprised brothers Mark Anders (bass and vocals) and Craig Anders (lead guitar and vocals) with Peter Filleul (keyboards and vocals) formerly of the Climax Blues Band, Jon “Pix” Pickford (guitar and vocals) and Jerry Robbins (drums). Released in 1972, The Parlour Band's only album Is a Friend?, was produced by Nick Tauber in a melodic progressive rock style, sounding like a "more mainstream, less art-rock-inclined Yes" with strong keyboard and guitar parts. The Parlour Band toured supporting Caravan and Steve Hillage’s Khan. Both Deram/Decca record labels are in superb undamaged Near Mint condition, bright and undamaged record labels with just a few light signs of play to the centre of each label.

The official side 1 matrix is ZAL-11343-2W, & Side 2 matrix is ZAL-11344P-4W.

Side 1 stampers: 1 B and Side 2: 1 B.
Both sides of the immaculate heavy Vinyl LP are in superb unmarked Mint Minus condition, beautiful undamaged, clean and bright Vinyl surfaces to both sides, no scuffs, or scratches, and hardly a sign of any hairlines, obviously a very well cared for LP.

The LP play's with an extraordinary sound quality from beginning to end with no clicks, no skips, no static background noise, a very powerful and enjoyable sound quality. I can honestly state that this LP has not been played very much at all.

The LP comes in it’s original blue printed polythene lined inner bag with a date code 5-72, and is protected in it’s original glossy front and back laminated Robert Stace Gatefold Picture Sleeve.

The gatefold sleeve is in superbExcellent to Excellent Plus condition. The front of the sleeve still retains its gloss laminate with no fading to the colours, with just light signs of record storage.

The inner gatefold part of the sleeve is super clean and undamaged.

The reverse panel of the sleeve is also super clean with mild record storage signs.

The spine edge and other edges are undamaged and free from splits, the wording on the spine edge is clearly legible. Ther is a 1” area to the spine that has laminate flaking, but nothing major.

This is a very nice example of this mega rare and obscure 1972 Parlour Band album.
