Description
THE OUTSIDERS – One To Infinity * ORIG Raw Edge Records EP / RER 002 (UK, Stereo, 1977)
Great 4-track EP here from The Outsiders – the very first release from the much missed Adrian Borland (Second Layer/The Sound) and another from this amazing collection of superbly preserved 1977 UK punk.
The black and white picture sleeve was printed in the UK by ‘delga press limited’ and is a tremendous example. For such a flimsy, non-laminated paper affair, the only evidence away from mint is a touch of ruffling and a tiny 3mm nick to the top opening edges. Hint of ring impression but these excepted, there’s nothing to suggest this sleeve is now 35+ years old. NO splits, rips, writing, stickers, moisture damage (ripples), no edge wear, sharp corners and back flips firmly in place. I’m grading it a minimum EX (Excellent) – though many would say it’s close to mint.
The original red labels are brilliant – one spindle trace to one side only but no writing, stickers, damage etc...
The vinyl hasn’t seen much use at all. Visually the surfaces grade EX+ (Excellent Plus) – one light scuff mark and a small patch of shading to the one side only. Other than that, great shine, NO scratches or scrapes. There’s a slight dishing which has no effect on the audio at all. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays fine – being a 4-track EP, it’s a fairly quiet pressing but there are NO pops, repeated clicks or distortion. Great copy of this early Borland related 45. Hard to better.
