 *** ATTENTION!***

Please carefully read our entire listing to answer any questions you may have,  including discount shipping rates at end of listing; then contact us directly with any other information you may need.

WITH MUCH APPRECIATION TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS:  If you have a question on orders received, please contact us.  We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.   When leaving Feedback, please consider the following:  eBay's policy on the 5-star rating system is anything less than a 5  reduces our standing with eBay and ultimately can affect our selling abilities.   SO please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music!  We have served thousands of satisfied customers  - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.
We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records.   Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of  2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays.  Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order.  Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

TO OUR REPEAT CUSTOMERS:  We are happy to hold orders to save on shipping.  Please pay your current invoice within five days of auctions ending and, if you request, we will hold your order and reflect a shipping discount for each additional order shipped together in the same parcel.

As always, thank you for your support!

            THE OUTSIDERS

                                 ...Holland - PSEUDONYM RECORDS

RARE high quality exact 2ndpress from the nintees...there were only 1000 made and quickly sold out ... this, the incredible Dutch Outsiders first album recorded in 1967 ...The Dutch OUTSIDERS were Hollands answer to Englands Pretty Things or the Rolling Stones and the album is fascinating...The energy behind the Outsiders' music is often described as "latent violence" and we couldn't agree more! The combination of Ronnie Splinter's bone-crunching guitar riffs and Wally Tax's deep, calm and moody voice creates a contrast which charges the listener up with a frustrating energy, desperate for release. Their other side shows the slower, more "romantic" side and marks the emergence of another Outsiders' trait: the ability to write GREAT ballads. Most of the garage / beat band of the sixties were able to write great "punk" songs, but their slower numbers were often lame, good only to flirt at parties. Instead, The Outsiders' ballads are so deep and intense that they're almost disturbing, as Wally's soulful voice hits you straight in the heart while Ronnie's guitar wrings your stomach.

1967 saw the release of four singles and an eponymous debut LP by the OUTSIDERS, side 1 of which was recorded live and shows the real power and passion of The Outsiders as a superb live band with a wide range of dynamics and an ability to whip up audience that was second to none. "Story 16", which opens the live side, utilises one chord, howling atonal harp, glissando bass and tempo changes that defy description. The way in which the group works together, the unification of purpose and intent, is comparable to that of The Velvet Underground or The Magic Band. Yep, that great. The songs follow thick and fast, punctuated by rowdy audience contributions (legend has it that Tax's father, who invariably attended gigs, would get the audience going on his own) and with no let up of intensity and power. The sound is deliciously raw and primitive, yet this isn't solely down to the less-than-pristine sound quality; the approach of the musicians has a unique, unschooled edge that you'll hardly find in any other bands of the period. The song that closes the live side, "Afraid Of The Dark", begins as a psychotic ballad, the creepy tremolo guitar and dark vocal reminiscent both of more scary rockabilly and that genre's garage beat-punk influenced many later bands of the genre; then suddenly without warning becomes a depth charge of a song that goes off in the speakers and careers to its conclusion like a stolen car pursued by the law. A breathtaking end to a peerless side of music.

The other side is all studio, from more breakneck flurries such as "Don't You Cry" and "If You Don't Treat Me Right" to more restrained but no less passionate workouts like "I Would Love You" and "Teach Me To Forget You"; all in all, a fantastic debut LP. Probably no more than twenty people outside Holland bought it at the time.
