This is the original pressing of a great Prog-Rock record, the only album The Nice released as a four-piece. It strikes just the right balance between colourful Psych-pop and Progression. The centrepiece is the pounding 8 minute ‘Rondo’, a showcase for Keith Emerson’s keyboard dexterity as he announces his arrival to take the Prog scene over with his extended 2nd movements and fugue’s etc etc...
LABEL
The pink Immediate label with black logo
MODE
Mono
VINYL TYPE
Medium width and weight, nice and solid
VINYL CONDITION
The appearance of this disc is that of a new piece of vinyl, it is so clean looking, bright and glossy that it really does look like it was actually played very little by the previous owner. A close inspection of the spindle wear shows that this is almost the case, the album has certainly only had a small amount of use and it has never been abused. A closer inspection of the vinyl shows that this really is a very clean record, with only a few of the lightest paper scuffs and brush marks, there are no bad marks or scratches. This great album is well worth a strong grade of Near Mint
SOUND
The sound in the run-in grooves is near silent, the most I have to report is the very occasional moment of light crackle at worst. Overall, the sound is crystal clear and plays through with a stunning audio clarity.
COVER TYPE
Single side opening album cover
COVER CONDITION
This is a Very Good condition collectable sleeve that has managed to keep itself clear of any major damage, it is fully intact and looks great. The main factors in considering the grade were some general scuffing to the spine and parts of the edges. On the front and the back there are a few light creases visible, all very small and minor. There is a very early development of ring-wear on the front and back but it is not a serious defacement. The bottom edge has some residue where protective tape has clearly once been applied then come away. On the top left of the front there is residue from a price sticker removal. This is all fairly standard wear and tear for a record cover that has been used in a collection for many years. In fact, taking that into consideration, this cover is in marvellous condition. In short, a little light early stage wear that has not developed into serious damage, a great looking piece!

I do not profit on packaging. All records are sent in professional mailers with stiffeners and polythene sleeves in which the disc will be removed from the sleeve for extra protection. I take great care with my packaging and want to make sure the records arrive in the same condition they left me. The recorded option is now compulsory because too many buyers claim their items do not arrive when they are sent without any form of tracking, so with recorded packages we all know exactly what’s going on with the delivery and records no longer disappear down a big postal service black hole!
PAYMENT METHODS
Paypal is preferred and I will not charge my buyers extra for using it.
Cheques, Postal Orders and International Money Orders are also accepted provided they are all payable in UK STERLING.
FRUIT TREE
This is my Ebay outlet for rare and classic vinyl artefacts in the fields of Rock, Garage Rock, Psych, Folk, Acid Folk, Jazz, Blues, Indie-Alt, Singer-Songwriter, Country, Rock’n’Roll & Doo-Wop and anything that’s cool and scarce on round wax! I have a particular emphasis on the period 1966-1972 and a fondness for the Island, Harvest, Immediate, Vertigo, Charisma and Transatlantic labels, particularly from the period specified above but also on other smaller obscure labels and the cool later stuff you’ll find at places like 4AD too! I’m basically on a perpetual voyage of discovery (as indeed you are I should think if you’ve read this far) and it’s always a case of anything unusual, weird and wonderful considered!
I strongly believe that any great music from the 60s and 70s was made for vinyl and simply has to be heard this way; it’s the format the music was made for and the difference in sound to an original vinyl pressing to a CD issue is often astounding! I take this vinyl affection through to the best new music as well, and to this day prefer to hear a great new album on a vinyl pressing if one is available. To this end, Fruit Tree Records on Ebay will from time to time unearth newer vinyl treasures as well as vintage ones for your delight.
I will always play grade my records and endeavour to describe them with 100% accuracy so that you know everything you need to know; there’s nothing to hide so please e-mail me any questions. I know from my years of collecting how important a detailed description is when buying over the internet.
REFUNDS
Finally, I am aware enough to know that even with my best efforts I may occasionally, very rarely but still occasionally, write a description opinion that the buyer does not 100% agree with. If that happens please don’t worry, I will not debate with you the difference between an EX- and VG+. I will give you a full refund, including your return postage costs, as long as you get the record back to me within 14 days. That’s guaranteed so buy with confidence; I hope you find something you like...
