Description
A rare UK Mono copy Of The New York Art Quartet - Mohawk - a 1965 release on the Fontana label.
The record has been Degritter cleaned and the vinyl has come up very shiny and black but with a faint needle patch on Side 1, and Side 2 Track 2 has a hairline running along the groove but this did not trouble playback. VG+
This is astonishingly good sound as Fontana mono recordings of this age so often are. Huge,clean and bold with superb instrumentation that is truly in the room with you and a low noise floor. No playback issues - no jumping or sticking.
The laminate front sleeve features artwork by the celebrated Dutch artist Marte Roling whose cover art is highly collectable (We are selling another example- Jazz Realities - on a separate listing). The sleeve is clean and robust but with wear/flaking starting on the bottom edge, light corner rubbing, and discolouration to the rear. No writing, stains, tape or tears. VG+
This copy comes with a 4 page booklet featuring notes and sheet music by John Tchicai for Quintus T - see photos
The original poly lined heavyweight inner sleeve is included and the record will be sent in an archival poly sleeve to protect it.
