RARE UK first (and only) pressing of The Mothmen`s debut album "Pay Attention!" on On-U Sounds Records (January 1981). 
Not only was the appearance of Adrian Sherwood`s On-U Sounds (as it was then known) on the scene a pivotal moment in UK independent music history, it also marked the beginning of probably the most significant period in UK dub/reggae history.
"A transient association of musicians from the north west of England in the extraordinary post-punk ferment at the turn of the 80s, The Mothmen put out the 
second album on Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound, distinguished among the label's catalogue by the lack of Sherwood's creative input. And it sounds suitably at 
odds. Pay Attention! passes through three informal stages, side one's opening 'Afghan Farmer Driving Cattle' proving, almost peevishly in retrospect, that they can 
do the classic, wondrous, spectral, glisten-shudder dub sound christ get a new chew toy already, before its seamless partner, 'Animal Animaux', goes off suitably 
half-cocked for the ensuing main course of dub-admiring Ubuoid nervous post-punk energy. Side two is given to an eponymous, protracted, mindfuck manifesto, 
which stakes out the psychedelic rhythm-trance territory of African Head Charge while successfully out-weirding their label-mates and, in doing so, making the

EX++ to MINT- COVER in very fine condition. Please see photos for details.
- Fully textured first pressing sleeve.
- Minimal corner wear (at bottom only).
- A few very minor creases to edges and spine.

MINT- RECORD, carefully played a very few times.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- A few lightest hairlines from sleeve removal only.
- Original custom-printed On-U Sounds Records labels with a few spindle lines.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "On-U LP-2  A-1  Townhouse" and "On-U LP-2  B-1  Townhouse", respectively.
- This copy of "Pay Attention!" is fully certified to be a very first UK pressing, released in January 1981.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay UK, this item is in honestly-graded EX++ to MINT- condition. You will be hard-pressed to find another copy of "Pay Attention!" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price: "True value for money" is the motto here!
