THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION (FRANK ZAPPA) - 'MOTHERMANIA.' STEREO.
UK 1st pressing on black/silver VERVE labels. SVLP 9239 (1969). First issue matrix and front laminated flipback sleeve. 'SOLD IN UK...' label text. A-1G/B-1G matrix. Heavy vinyl: 154 grams!
Do not underestimate how rare this is as a UK pressing. It is hardly ever seen.
UK front laminated flipback sleeve grades EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-) condition. Intact, fully legible spine with blue text. Clean and solid condition with only very minor signs of handling and storage wear. Slight foxing to reverse of sleeve, but still clean and just off white. Glossy front laminate with light lamination creasing toward the edge of the spine. It looks to me that one milllimetre (1mm) has been trimmed from the opening edge to make the opening edge appear sharper. It came to me like this. Were it not for this I would give the cover a higher grade.
Original factory sticker covers the SVLP 9239 text code on the reverse of the sleeve. This sticker announces the new standardised Polydor coding with the number: 2352 017. The record label and printed sleeve (under the sticker) still maintains the Verve SVLP 9239 code.
So, an original first pressing with a fully intact transitional sticker. RARE!
Vinyl grades EXCELLENT (EX) possibly higher. Nice solid condition and great example of this very rare UK album record. Some light wispy surface marks but this vinyl plays through brilliantly. Labels are in great condition with the 'SOLD IN UK...' text.
This version of Mothermania includes some completely different track mixes and the uncensored lyrics on 'Mother People.'
Original paper inner sleeve included.
