RD 7844, original first issue UK 1966 mono ‘red dot’ RCA Victor record labels.
A first issue UK 1966 album in original condition, featuring:
1. THE MONKEES, original first issue UK 1966 mono debut LP,
2. earliest UK sleeve, featuring the text of ‘COLGEMS’ printed on the front, bottom right corner, this text was soon to be removed from the sleeve,
3. earliest UK sleeve, featuring the original track title of, ‘Papa Genes Blues’, as this track title was soon to be changed to read, ‘Papa Jeans Blues’,
4. original first issue UK 1966 earliest record matrix of, TZRM 4687 1K and TZRM 4688 1K,
5. original first issue UK 1966 record labels, featuring:
a. ‘grooved’ record labels,
b. the earliest, ‘Times Roman’ font,
c. Red dot, RCA Victor, ‘made in England’,
6. comes with its original period, associated ‘RCA Victor’, Made in England, ‘care for your record’ and ‘mono / stereo stylus’ information, inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition. The sleeve is laminated on the front. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained clean and white and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges have remained clean. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period associated ‘RCA Victor’, Made in England, ‘care for your record’ and ‘mono / stereo stylus information’. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. An excellent original, clean white sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve.
THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The record is made from the quality period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.
The matrix are: TZRM 4687 1K and TZRM 4688 1K, the earliest UK mono record matrix,
The mother / stampers are: ‘20 M’ and ‘26 M’. On each side in the ‘run off’ groove there are the letters ‘KT’ engraved at the ‘12 O'clock’ position.
THE AUDIO: each side plays excellent. On side one, on track three I did hear some light ‘fuzziness’ for a short time on the introduction, otherwise side one plays excellent. Each side plays with a full powerful period, ‘mono’ sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in very good++ condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION. BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
