Description

TITLE/ARTIST: Hello and please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection will eventually come up for sale - records from the '50's, '60's, and much, much more - all "oldies" and all in great condition! Here is one of those early, extremely rare and highly collectible LP`s by a one hit/one LP group, The Marathons. The group was primarily known for their somewhat goofy, but cleverly written, songs from the early 1960's. It is yet another album in outstanding condition - BOTH the vinyl and the jacket - but especially the vinyl. This album - the group's 1st, and only - is on the original, and somewhat obscure (to me anyway), Arvee Label, and is entitled "Peanut Butter", after the one hit song the group did have. But, just to give you some idea of their trademark recording style, other titles from this album include, "Tight Sweater", "Oink Jones", and "Percy Mercy Of Scotland Yard" just to name three. But, all of the titles are visible in the pictures above - and all are in MONO and all are in outstanding shape (see the pictures above for all of the song titles). LABEL INFO: This original, orange and black Arvee Label (A 428) is nearly perfect with no issues at all - I see only a couple of light spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had very little play time. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is also super shiny, clean, and nice with again, nothing in need of any mention. In my opinion, the vinyl seriously looks almost as good as the day it was 1st purchased, and again, was likely played very sparingly. JACKET INFO: Finally, the jacket is primarily very good - although there are some super light signs of "aging" and/or ring wear on the front side only and a couple of small scuff marks in the corners - but nothing all that serious, believe me. Other than this, I see no other visible flaws. INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, this extremely hard to find, highly collectible LP is in very nice overall condition - so please have at it and continue to check this site for more great conditioned "oldies" from my personal collection. As I have already mentioned, over time I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, sizes, and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are listed in the shipping category below--$23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I take a great deal of pride in packaging all my mailings both safely and securely. However, I cannot be responsible for records that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. But, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
