1968 scarce first pressing, the original vinyl release on the obscure "Poppy" label brings you the first of three great Mandrake Memorial albums...AS great as "Puzzle" and "Medium" are, this one is arguably their best, loaded with strong self compositions and terrific playing ...those catchy tuneful grooves mixes with lysergic fuzz guitar and trippy keyboards are hard to beat...
From Philadelphia, Mandrake Memorial added a uniquely baroque touch to the usual mix of rock and psychedelics. This their self-titled debut album is absolutely brilliant. The synergy created between the breathless vocals of Randy Monaco, the elaborate keyboard (harpsichord!) playing of Michael Kac, and the searing guitar work of Craig Anderton, is stunning at times. This amazing musicianship applied to very interesting and melodic original material makes for a very special listening experience. The Mandrake Memorial sound is baroque, exotic, ethereal, and utterly infectious. This first album is definitely an essential possession for fans of psychedelia, and its definitely one to be treasured.

CONDITION: The Cover: is strong, solid all over: seams are tight, no bends, no writing, only a little shelf wear, still wrapped in cellophane which has kept it clean
The Vinyl is in excellent condition, one very light hairline barely visable and otherwise a nice glossy vinyl

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised, as Sealed or Unplayed will be mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, possibly with light surface marks but there will be very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD + The record may have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only barely detectable crackles or pops. A slight noise at the beginning is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless. Definitely no scratches or gouges that a touch with a dry finger can feel. The cover may only have the slightest signs of normal wear.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
