1967/Cdn/Mercury SRS-67088…..here’s an absolutely gorgeous original Canadian Stereo pressing of their 1st lp. The cover is in strong Excellent or better condition with a touch of corner wear, a bit more bottom left corner, and light spotty bottom seam wear, there is virtually no wear, splits, delete or other issues! The vinyl is in pristine like new M- condition and looks pretty unplayed!, however I have played it once. The labels are clean and have no wear or spindle marks. A Top copy of this baroque pop psych classic! Please check my auctions for other rock, and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!

As "The Left Banke", one of their first recordings, "Walk Away Renee", was written by Michael Brown when he was only sixteen years old. The song is about Renee Fladen, who was Tom Finn's girlfriend, with whom Brown was infatuated. Fladen was present when Brown tried to record his harpsichord part. "My hands were shaking when I tried to play, because she was right there in the control room," he says. "There was no way I could do it with her around, so I came back and did it later." The song, which took about eight weeks to write and record, was rejected by ten major labels before Smash Records took it on. Soon after its release in Feb. 1966, "Walk Away Renee" shot up the U.S. charts and peaked at #5. The follow up song, "Pretty Ballerina" as well as "She May Call You Up Tonight" were also fruits of this infatuation.

MINT: as stated with no defects

M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
