Item Description:

This is an original Mono U.S. first pressing of ‘The Left Banke’s first album ‘Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina’, released on ‘Smash Records’ in May 1967 (Serial Number: MGS 27088). The LP has been unopened and therefore unplayed since it was originally purchased! This is an unbelievably rare and collectable item on this format especially the Monoaural version. *Please note that this item is listed in the ‘Record Collector: Rare Record Price Guide 2007’* I am therefore looking to attract sensible bids on this item from serious customers/collectors.

Condition of Item:

The record cover is in NM (Near Mint) condition, having just a couple of small creases to the bottom right hand corner. Other than that, it is in Immaculate condition especially considering that this LP is 40 years old!

This LP is still in its original cellophane wrapping so the vinyl disc itself should be in Mint condition having actually never been played! This LP originally came from a reliable collector who purchased it back in the early 70s and took great care of it. What is for sure, is that you will not find a copy of this particular LP in better condition than this. Not only is this an extremely rare and collectible LP, it is also a classic cult album of the late 60s which features two of the bands most successful hits.

Grading of LP’s

People selling vinyl on ‘ebay’ use different guides to grade the LP’s they have for sale which can be slightly confusing for buyers. To make it clear, my gradings are based on the ‘Goldmine Grading Standard’ taken from ‘Goldmine’ magazine which is considered to be the standard for record collector’s worldwide. Their grading scale is as follows:

1)     Mint (I personally only use the word ‘Mint’ if an LP is still sealed and has therefore definitely not been played).

2)     Near Mint

3)     Very Good Plus

4)     Very Good

5)     Good / Good Plus

6)     Poor / Fair

NB: I try to grade my records very cautiously with a very critical eye in the hope that prospective buyers will then be pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed with their purchase.

Postage & Packing:

UK Customers

Customers within the United Kingdom will have their items sent out by First Class recorded delivery. UK customers will normally be charged 3.00 GBP for P&P unless the LP is heavier for any reason (eg: if it has a gatefold sleeve or is a double LP etc). In this case the postage will be increased accordingly. The price of First Class recorded delivery insures items up to the value of 34.00 GBP against loss or damage. Therefore, customers who win items over the value of 34.00 GBP will be given the option to take out extra insurance on the item. If they choose not to and the item is then either lost or damaged in the postal system, regrettably I can not then be held accountable and expected to refund the price of the item to the buyer.

Overseas Customers

As a result of a couple of isolated incidents where I have sent out items to overseas customers via normal airmail and the buyer has claimed that the item has not been received and has expected a full refund (even though the item WAS sent out), I have had to revise my postage policy to International customers.

I prefer to send out items to overseas customers via Royal Mail ‘International Signed For’ post, which unfortunately means an extra 3.50 GBP on the postage cost. However, with this increased postage cost comes priority handling, on-line tracking and delivery confirmation as well as up to 34.00 GBP compensation for loss or damage. Overseas customers who win items over the value of GBP 34.00 will be given the option of taking out extra insurance on the item. This can be purchased for an added 1.50 GBP and covers items up to the value of 500.00 GBP. If buyers choose not to take out extra insurance and the item is then either lost or damaged in the postal system, I regrettably cannot then be held accountable and expected to refund the price of the item to the buyer.

Sending out items by this method has proved very successful and has completely eliminated any disputes regarding items being lost in the post.

However, I appreciate that some overseas customers may not be happy paying such high postage costs, especially on less expensive items. Therefore, I AM prepared to send out items via normal airmail to overseas customers (thereby reducing the postage cost) but ONLY on the condition that if the item does then get lost or damaged in the postal system that I am not held accountable and expected to refund the price of the item to the buyer. If you wish me to send out your item via normal airmail please contact me after the auction has ended so that I can modify your invoice for you :0)

If you are bidding on several of my items and wish to receive a reduction in postage costs, please contact me after the auction ends so that we can come to an agreement about the total postage cost, so as to avoid disputes later.

Full payment must be received within 7 days of the auction’s end. Appropriate feedback will then be left.
