RECORDS GRADUATION
New (M) - Vinyl Absolutely perfect in every way. It has certainly never been used, and may still be sealed.
Like New (NM) - An almost perfect record. A NM disc has most likely never been used, and will play perfectly during playback. The disc should not show any obvious signs of wear.
Excellent (EX) - An EX disc will show some signs that it has been played but on the other hand it will be obvious that a previous owner took good care of it. The disc surface may show some signs of wear and may have, could have a few very light scratches hardly visible.
Very Good (VG) - Many of the defects found on an EX record will be more pronounced on a VG record. Surface noise could be perceptible when playing back, especially on soft passages and during the intro and fade out of a song, but by no means dominate the music. Groove wear will start to become noticeable. Some light scratches are accepted
Good Condition (GC) - A record in good condition can be put on a turntable and it will play without skips. But this one is going to have some noise, scuffs, surface scratches, and visible groove wear. Could have tape marks or writings in label, ring wear, or other blemishes will begin to accumulate on item.
