The KINKS began as a tough Mod RnB band, snarling vocals and grinding garage guitars.
As the 60s became more sophisticated for British music, the ever observant brilliance of Ray Davies' leadership saw them more creative and enthralling lyrically, and they produced some of the finest pop singles of the time!
Rivals The Who had initially copied their sound, but both bands had internal differences that kept them aggressively in-fighting both off stage and on.
That may have transformed the music though, as both bands made powerful mod sounds - and often tinged with acerbic humour.
Here's a fine example of this great band's output and variety - perhaps their greatest album release.
CONDITION;
The VINYL has TOP shine and the music plays loud & clear. Grading BEAUTIFUL EXCELLENT+.
There's a couple of marks to 'Death Of A Clown' and some light pressure marks on side 2 that determine the grade. It's a lovely heavy pressing, and a wonderful example.
Classic PYE STEREO Labels are NEAR MINT with no stickers or writing.
The SINGLE SLEEVE COVER is decent VG+, a bend to the top corner, but little wear to the surfaces.
