Description
The Kinks self titled debut LP on Pye from 1964, catalogue no. NPL 18096. It looks like a second pressing, with matrix numbers NN 1096-A2T and NN 1096-B2T. Although these numbers are stamped on, it looks just like the "2" was written on over the "1" that would have been there on a first pressing.

- Stop Your Sobbing
- Got Love If You Want It
The thick heavy vinyl record is in EX condition. It is bright and shiny, even though it has clearly been played a good number of times judging by the spindles marks on the labels on both sides, but it has equally been looked after very carefully. It is not perfect - when held in the light, there are some very light surface marks, but nothing to affect play. There is a little very light crackling on the lead-ins and between tracks, but the songs themselves sound fantastic, and just about as good as they would have done on the day this record was purchased some 45 years ago.
The laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve is also EX. The front is clean and shiny, the back is clean and white. The edges are unscuffed, the spine is almost perfect and the opening edge is free from feathering or other defect. It does have its faults, minor though they are. A very small area of laminate has lifted at the top left hand corner, there is a small amount of ringwear, mainly visible at the bottom and there are a couple of small edge creases, one above the second "K" in the band's name at the top, the other at the bottom between Dave Davies and Mick Avory.
Its faults are minor - few have survived in this condition, and many would grade this one higher than I have. I try to be accurate, but probably stay on the side of caution. Even so, I believe that most collectors would agree that this is a very, very nice record.
As with all the records I am selling, a full refund is offered if the winning bidder is not happy with the item.
