I am selling some of the records I've had for many years in my great collection. Here's a copy of The Kinks ARE THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY CAT# RS6327 is an amazing LP from 1969, released at the peak of their 60's masterpiece LP's. This LP didn't sell well at all, only selling 100,000 copies. It can be attributed that to a couple factors. First, 1969 was one of the most amazing years for music with a ton of great LPs released that year. Second, The Kinks were banned from touring America from 1965-1969, and this at the height of their creative prowess did not help their standing at a time when British Invasion bands were at their peak of popularity. And Third, They didn't even release it in America for a year after it was released elsewhere...However, over time this LP has found it's place, and many consider it some of the best songwriting Ray Davies ever did. It has become somewhat of a cult LP, and is very hard to find original copies. Better condition copies of this first pressing LP are very expensive, as this is a pretty hard to find LP. Later pressings have been remastered, and lack the qualities of the originals. This copy is a nice playing LP. It isn't the finest example ever, but is a respectable copy that plays very nicely. The cover is worn on both sides from years of pressing against other LPs. The inside gatefold is very nice. The seams are a little frayed, and top seam has a clear tape attached holding the top seam nicely. This is on the 2 tone Steamboat label. The labels are in very nice shape, and the LP looks very clean. There are no skips, pops, or any major dings to the LP. However, it does have scuffs on the vinyl, and some minor background noise, noticeable mostly in between tracks and in quiet spots.
