"The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, by brothers Ray and Dave Davies in 1964. Categorised in the United States as a British Invasion band, The Kinks have been cited as one of the most important and influential rock acts of the era. Their music was influenced by a wide range of genres, including rhythm and blues, British music hall, folk, and country. The group originally consisted of Ray Davies (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dave Davies (lead guitar, vocals), Pete Quaife (bass guitar, backup vocals), and Mick Avory (drums and percussion).
The album was recorded live at The Kelvin Hall, Glasgow on 1st April 1967 and produced by Shel Talmy. Although both label and sleeve state 'published 1967' the generally accepted release date appears to be 12th January 1968.
Condition
Record: Four clicks between tracks two and three of side one, otherwise clean. I would rate as Excellent.
Sleeve: Flip-back sleeve. Completely intact. Mild ring-mark to front. The reverse of sleeve has a group photo on white ground which has signs of handling in places but I am being hyper-critical. I would have to say Very Good to Excellent.
