Description

This is a rare original 1965 pressing of the Kinks album ‘The Kinks Kontroversy’. This is a record that hardly ever turns up for sale as an original and when it does it is seldom in great sounding, great looking condition like this one so don’t miss out...

RECORD CONDITION

Labels: VERY GOOD

Both the labels are unblemished, there is no writing on them or any marks or any trace of sticker removals or anything like that. There’s a bit of wear around the spindle area but nothing excessive, it all still looks fine.

Visual: VERY GOOD

The record has retained a lovely glossy appearance and there’s nothing to highlight as a major negative point. There are no bad scratches and there is no warping or any other severe effect of ageing or overuse. The main thing you see when looking close up is some light paper scuffs, a few light marks and the odd hairline. This is all what you’d typically find on a used record of this age but crucially one that is still fully playable and great sounding at that...

Play: VERY GOOD

The whole record plays through fine; there are no nasty pops or crackles and not too much in the way of background noise. Any light marks on the record are either totally non-sounding or cause the kind of insignificant background pop or click that will pass unnoticed unless the listener is specifically looking for them. Basically there’s nothing here to spoil your enjoyment of the music.

COVER CONDITION

Front laminate flip-back sleeve: VERY GOOD+

The whole cover has remained intact and looks great. There is no writing on the front or back cover and no other kind of defacement. The top and bottom edges are both smooth with only a very small amount of scuffing that hasn’t lead to any seam splits and the spine is still firm with clearly legible text. There is some slight ring-wear apparent on the front and back and the non-laminate rear has perhaps lost some of its bright white sheen. These are all fairly minor points of wear though on what remains a well looked after original and rare album cover as can be clearly seen in the pictures.
