THE KINKS – Kinda Kinks ORIG Pye LP / NPL 18112 (UK, Mono, 1965)
Happy to present this UK 1st press of the Kinks’ 2nd long player. Particularly strong sleeve with a great playing record.
The front-laminated, tri-flipback sleeve was made in the UK by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. 4 very small ‘thumb’ creases to the front and some light toning to the rear panel (much brighter than the usual browned and grubby examples which show up). Appreciable corner wear to only the bottom front right, the other 3 are nice and sharp. Slight scrape to the word ‘kinda’ on the front and tiny scuffing to one end of the top rear flipback. Otherwise, very tidy indeed – nice shiny laminate , no splits, perfect spine (everything legible), no ring impression and no writing anywhere. All in all, very pleasing and worthy of a minimum EX- (Excellent Minus) grade.
The deep pink Pye labels look great. Full colour, no scrapes, wear, writing etc. Light to moderate spindle evidence.
The medium to heavy weight vinyl shows several LIGHT scuff trails, some hairlines and smaller light surface scratches (not deep). Visual VG+ (Very Good Plus) grade as in spite of the surface markings it maintains an impressive shine. Evidently played a few times but not excessively so and probably above average at this late stage. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays pretty much EX, sounding bright, sharp and clear. There is a touch of dust static/light crackle in the quiet areas and track divides but you won’t notice anything else. So that’s no snap or pops, no repetitive clicks, no distortion or clipped frequencies. As with the other original 1960’s Kinks LPs it was pressed to last!
Supplied with PYE advertising inner too in great EX+ state.
