The KINKS issued 2 early singles which didn't chart, but not discouraged, Ray Davies composed ever after and they became radio regulars!
The records were Mod classics, but also had a genius songwriting that, while wonderful English turns of phrase, had a wit and observations that epitomised the Swinging Sixties in London Town!
Maybe this was the response to The Beatles putting Liverpool on the World map, but with less hand-holding and Love - indeed the Fab Four were to emulate the wit and vaudeville approach in their later material.
The WHO soon followed suit too.
Did they take influence from Ray then?? Maybe! ...and who's to complain?
This album is filled with classic garage mod tough tunes - and it's a heck of a good start.
CONDITION;
The VINYL has decent shine and the music plays loud & clear. Grading VG++
Classic Red PYE Labels are EXCELLENT with no stickers or writing.
The FRONT LAMINATED 'FLIPBACK' COVER is lovely VG++. Only a few small handling creases.
A very respectable example.
Original poly lined PYE inner sleeve included.
