KINKS the first album by The KINKS


You are viewing my rare and extremely collectable classic vinyl album from 1964 by THE KINKS entitled simple, 'KINKS'.  'Kinks' is the Kinks very first album.


This MONO album was released on the PYE label and is a pressing made in ENGLAND.  It has the reference number of NPL 18096.


This is a very early pressing that has the matrix number of NN 1096-A1T on Side One (although it looks as if the figure '2' has been hand written over the '1').  It has the matrix number of NN 1096-B1T on Side Two (although, (again) it looks as if the figure '2' has been hand written over the '1').

This album itself is in good condition.  There are a number of visible marks to sides one and two, despite that it continues to play well with no sticks or jumps.  There is some background noise, especially on the quieter parts of the album and between tracks.  I critically grade this album as G (both sides).

 

The front laminated cover is the original 'flipback' Garrod & Lofthouse cover.  There is some age discolouration on the reverse, some creasing to the spine and edges and a small spilt at the mouth of the sleeve (just visible in the photograph). Despite this description, I would critically grade the album cover as G.


This is a rarely seen album that, despite the description above still plays well.  It is not a mint copy but remains very useable/playable.
