Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my 60’s beat and psych and some 70’s progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first 1966 U.K. STEREO EXPORT pressing of The Kinks – Face to Face on the Pye label, cat. no. NSPL 18149.
The record is in VG+++ condition, there are a few non – sounding hairlines and a couple non-sounding surface marks. In my opinion, this record is close to an EX grading, but I’m being a little conservative in this case. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are some spindle marks and there is a very slight wear around the spindle hole on both sides.
The cover is in VG to VG+ condition, the opening edge has some slight feathering, the bottom seam has a split in the middle of approx 3.5 inches. The stereo sticker has been removed from the back, leaving a sort of glue stain over the NPL text on the back. Further this cover still looks very presentable, there is no other damage than mentioned above.
Although this record is not in dream Mint condition, this EXPORT copy of the Kinks’ Face to Face album is extremely rare and only pressed in very limited quantities. Besides that, the stereo mix of Face to Face was not available in Great Britain back in 1966. This is a unique chance to complete your Kinks collection! Happy Bidding!
