Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my pop and progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first 1969 U.K. STEREO pressing of The Kinks – Arthur or the Decline and Fall of the Britsh Empire on the Pye label, cat. no. NSPL 18317, with GATEFOLD cover and mega rare INSERT!
The record is in EX minus condition, there are a few non – sounding hairlines and one or two non-sounding marks. The labels are in EX condition, there are a couple spindle marks only.
The GATEFOLD cover is in VG+ condition, there is a very tiny piece from the spine missing in the top left hand corner and there is some wear along the upper seam on the front, but further this cover looks very presentable to me. This cover also still has the “NSPL” sticker pasted over the “NPL” print on the back.
The most important thing to this records, the Queen Mum insert with the lyrics, is in VG to VG+ condition, there is a small piece of the “lip” above the Queen’s head missing and there is a tear on the back. Although not in mint condition, I am very happy that the insert is still with the record. Most inserts are already separated from the record and eventually got missing.
Although this record is not in dream Mint condition, this COMPLETE copy of the Kinks’ Arthur album is very hard to find. Original U.K. pressings (with gatefold cover and the black PYE stripe on top of the label) are practically impossible to find. You often find the later pressings with single sleeve and later label. And when you find an original pressing, the insert is missing in 90 percent of those cases. So, this is a real unique opportunity to complete your Kinks collection!

Within the European Union, the postage costs are £ 8.75, outside the E.U. £ 15.00 (sorry, but postage rates in the Netherlands are very high). Payment within 7 days after the auction has ended.
Please also note that the shipping costs are the same for 1 LP as for up to 5 LPs (the Dutch postal services charges the same amount up to 2KGs) So If you buy more, the shipping costs for your other LP’s are basically for free.
