Description
Here I have for sale the impossibly rare first album by The Killers, Hot Fuss.
So what makes this record so special? Well this particular record is one of only 100 ever made!
The first 100 copies of this USA record were made available via mail order only and were hand numbered by a staff member at the record manufacturing company TCG ‘The Control Group’
This particular copy is number 30/100, has blue vinyl and has the band name embossed with a red foil.
The manufacturing company were also asked to produce a run of 3000 records with blue vinyl with the difference being that the band name was embossed with silver foil and left un-numbered.
This record is a real investment for the lucky winner as its value WILL only go up as the band get bigger and bigger.
Imagine how sought after the first U2 album ‘Boy’ would be if it was Ltd to just 100 copies on its first production run! RETIREMENT springs to mind.

The condition of the record.
The sleeve appears to have water damage (Raised ridges) along the spine on both sides and along the front opening. This may sound terrible but there is no discolouration to the sleeve inside or out and unless the light is shining in a particular angle you can’t notice the ridges. Hopefully the pictures will help with my description.
There is also a slight tear to the top of the sleeve about an inch long dead centre, I checked this out with other owners of the record and they all have the same tear in the same position!
It turns out that TCG made the sleeve slightly too small for the record so most of the 100 have this mark due to the record itself having made the mark! This goes to show how ‘one off’ this record really is!!
The vinyl itself is in mint condition and never played. The colour is a translucent dark blue but with an unusual light black marble effect when held up to the light.
I won’t bother to give the track listing as the majority of people interested in this record will know it off by heart anyway!
I’m VERY reluctant to sell this record and won’t be disappointed if it doesn’t make the reserve price tell you the truth., but we’ll see what happens!?
