THE KEEF HARTLEY BIG BAND ‘LITTLE BIG BAND’ 1971 STEREO LP.

Pressed in England and released on Deram SDL 4.

Side 1: XZAL-10808P         1              U.

Side 2: XZAL-10809P         1              C.

[‘MUFFER’ has been hand etched into the run out area of side 1 & ‘NERO’ has been hand etched into the run out area of side 2].

Play grades as EX-/VG+.

On both sides all musical and vocal passages play clearly & brightly.

There is a diagonal scratch at the end of side 1, which is at 8 o’clock and about 2.5 cm. long and runs another few mms. into the run out area, which causes a muffled ‘click’ that repeats throughout its length but does disappear below the music several times.

Otherwise there are no sticks, jumps or skips and no evidence of any groove wear at all.  There is only a little light, short lived surface noise in the run in/out areas and between some tracks. There is a little quiet background crackle in the two quieter sections on side 2 and at the very end of the side a few small scratches sound on each revolution in the fade out.

The record has a slight edge wobble when played which has no effect on the sound reproduction.

When tilted under normal lighting both sides do have a few surface marks/needle lines as well as the scratch mentioned above on side 1.

When tilted under halogen lights both sides have a few more light marks visible.

Gatefold sleeve grades as VG-.

Is complete but the outside of the sleeve has edge wear and some light surface rubbing in places. The inside of the sleeve is VG.

Poly-lined Blue Stereo text inner grades as EX.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].

I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

(EX) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

(B) BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.  

I normally ship within 1/2 working days of receipt of payment.
