The Jam : The Gift

This first pressing plays with Mint quality audio and comes complete with its original inner 'candy' bag and an immaculate cover and lyric inner.

The vinyl gleams beautifully and retains an incredible glossy sheen.  There are no scratches or marks just a few very fine, hard to spot, sleeve removal hairlines that have no bearing on the stunning audio.  There is very little spindle wear confirming it has only been lightly played.

Play grading  

'Happy Together' on S1 plays with impeccable audio with only a couple of static sounds on the intro.  'Ghosts' is just Mint from beginning to end.  The clarity is first class and for a relatively quiet track to play so clearly on a first pressing is a rarity.  The remaining tracks are more than equal to this standard and I confident in grading this side as Mint- and the minus is only being used because it isn't sealed!  The warmth and clarity of sound is just immaculate and it could not be improved upon.

  S2 once again plays to a superlative standard.  There is not one iota of interference, the quality is mind-blowing!  This is a final upgrade archive copy without doubt.  With no 'background' this is audio at its most impressive, not one click or pop, absolutely stunning!  The classic 'Town Called Malice' is Mint through and through and 'The Gift' ends this album with excellent sound, just some distortion on the top level which is common on the last track of any side.

The Cover

The cover is in superb condition and the edges and spine have no wear at all and neither does the opening edge.  It is not far off being 'as new' and only has a handful of tiny creases around the edges.  The corners are also in great shape.  This is a mega clean example of this cover.

Candy Bag

The original pink & white candy striped paper bag does have some wear but just to have it is a result!  It is largely intact but there is a tear down the right side to the halfway point, a small tear on the front and some wear along the top.  However, when you consider it is made of paper and most were thrown away this is in pretty good 'nick' and remains 100% legible.  A collectors' item in its own right. 

Lyric inner

This is as near to perfect as is possible.  With only a hint of ringwear it is in superb condition, I have never seen better.

The labels

They are practically as new with only a minimal amount of spindle wear.  Very clean with no marking.
